Customer Q&A

Clermont County Mental Health & Recovery Board

1

What’s something unique about your programs?

CCMHRB is the behavioral health authority for Clermont County and is responsible for all State and Federal public funds allocated for mental health and substance use services in the County. CCMHRB is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, with members appointed by the County Commissioners, and the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. The Board seeks to ensure that services are based on collaborative efforts, utilize innovative approaches, and maximize resources to best meet increasing needs. The Board serves as a “safety net” for all Clermont County residents, ensuring that treatment and support services, trained professionals, and evidence-based programs are in place and accessible.

2

What do you wish more people knew about your work?

State and federal funding, as well as our levy funding, provides a safety net for community residents and allows access to services regardless of ability to pay. Last year, 20,000 Clermont residents received either treatment or prevention services that were supported in part by the Mental Health Levy. The Board funds vital programming in the County including the Crisis Hotline, Mobile Crisis, Care Management services, School Based Mental Health services in all school districts, Counseling for youth, adults and families, Drug Prevention services, and Substance Use Disorder treatment.

3

What’s a common myth about behavioral health that you want to debunk?

Anyone can be impacted by emotional problems, mental illness and/or a substance use disorder. No one is immune. One in five Americans will experience a mental health concern at some point in their lives. All of us suffer from loss and unexpected setbacks at various stages of our lives. Today, more than ever, individuals are seeking help and encouraging loved ones to seek help when personal problems arise. Help is available through services funded by the CCMHRB.

4

How can someone reading this support the CCMHRB?

The Board relies heavily on our Mental Health Tax Levy to fund needed services for our County. We need support from County residents to continue to have access to this funding. The Tax Levy brings over $3.3 million in funding to our system of care. The Board’s Levy will be on the ballot on November 4, 2025 for a renewal. The renewal means no new taxes, but a continuation of the current levy. Residents can help our community and our residents by voting FOR the Mental Health Levy in November.

Residents can also support the CCMHRB by volunteering to be on the Board of Directors and/or volunteering to help with community education events. Please contact the CCMHRB through our website (link below!) or by calling 513-732-5400 to volunteer to help us help Clermont County residents thrive. You can make a difference in Clermont County!
