In response to last week’s joint federal alert regarding “an increased and imminent cybercrime threat to U.S. hospitals and healthcare providers” as noted in article links below, Cantata Health would like to take this opportunity to reach out to our clients reaffirming our dedication to providing quality healthcare solutions and a secure data environment for all of our customers.

Cantata Health continually monitors all of our internal systems as well as our customer cloud-based applications hosted by Cantata for abnormal activity that could indicate attempts to infiltrate our systems.  We also ensure that appropriate security patches are installed on all systems in a timely manner. We and our partners also ensure that all firewalls and other network devices are maintained at appropriate software levels and are monitored at all times for suspicious activity.

With the ever increasing risk to all data systems and the recent increase in attacks on healthcare providers we would also like to take an opportunity to remind our valued customers of the importance of ensuring that all of your critical data assets are monitored and maintained on current security patch levels.

We would also ask you to remember that while technology plays an integral role in providing a secure IT environment, it is important to recognize that cybercriminals target individuals via links in emails and email attachments, or website links that, with a single click, could allow a  virus access to a secure network. Educating users to never open attachments or click links from their email if they are not 100% certain that the email or website is legitimate

is a simple and effective method to help prevent the risk of a cyber threat.  We have also provided a link below to a document that you could use to share with your staff regarding the dangers of these types of attacks.
